About dr caylin

After completing my internship at Groote Schuur Hospital, I began community service at Mowbray Maternity Hospital, an especially memorable time, as it’s also the year I got married.

I then spent four rewarding years as a Medical Officer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at New Somerset Hospital. It was during this chapter that I became a mom to my daughter, Calliope - and experience that deepened my passion for women’s health on both a personal and professional level.

In 2018, I took the next step in my journey and started specialist training at Tygerberg Hospital. Over the years, I worked in several public hospitals, managed many high-risk pregnancies, performed complex surgeries, and even had some ICU exposure. These experiences shaped me into the kind of doctor who values both technical skill and compassionate care.

After qualifying as a specialist, I stayed on at Tygerberg, where I continues to work clinically and helped teach medical students, something I found incredibly fulfilling.

Along the way, I completed certificated in endoscopy, surgical skills, and family planning. I’m also proud to be a Fellow of the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa (SMSA).

In May 2023, I opened my own private practice, a dream come true.

In June 2024, I opened my second location, a dream I thought would take much longer.

None of this journey has been walked alone. I am incredibly fortunate to work alongside a dedicated and compassionate team who share my commitment to providing thoughtful, patient-centred care. From the reception desk to the consulting room, every person plays a vital role in creating a space where patients feel heard, supported, and safe.

Equally, the unwavering support of my family has made it possible for me to show up fully for my patients each day. Being a wife and mother has shaped not only who I am, but how I practise medicine — with empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of the balance women navigate in their own lives.

Together, this support system allows me to do what I love most: care for women through every stage of their journey with kindness, respect, and professionalism.
